Job summary

Perfection Fresh Australia is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator for our Homebush Distribution Centre. You will support receivals, stock movements, order fulfilment and dispatch within a fast-paced cold storage environment.

The shift is 06:00AM-14:00PM, providing a stable day shift with rigorous safety standards. The role requires a current forklift licence, a valid driver licence, and experience in warehousing.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence and valid driver licence required.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems and label printing.
• Experience in warehousing, stores, stock control or distribution.
• Ability to work safely in cold storage environments.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
• Check stock, pallet counts and transport paperwork accurately, escalate discrepancies.
• Label incoming stock with date codes and GRN labels, move stock to correct location in FIFO order.
• Pick, repack, stack, palletise and label customer orders to specification.
• Use warehouse systems to support order fulfilment and stock movements.
• Assist with stocktakes and inventory accuracy; manage CHEP or other records.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area including forklift zones.
• Conduct forklift care duties and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Support safe operations by identifying hazards and escalating issues.
• Provide general warehouse and admin support across DC locations as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our Homebush Distribution Centre team. This role is responsible for supporting the smooth flow of receivals, stock movements, order fulfilment and dispatch activity across a fast-paced cold storage and warehouse environment. **Please Note the shift schedule of this role will be 06:00AM-14:00PM**

Key Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks
• Check stock, pallet counts and transport paperwork accurately, escalating discrepancies to DC management, supervisors or stock control as required.
• Label incoming stock with date codes and GRN labels, then move and rotate stock to the correct cool room, warehouse, VAD or dispatch location in FIFO order.
• Pick, repack, stack, palletise and label customer orders to specification, ensuring quality standards are met before dispatch.
• Use warehouse systems, dispatch screens and basic computer processes to support order fulfilment, stock movements, label printing and daily workload planning.
• Assist with stocktake checks, inventory accuracy, pallet movements and the management of CHEP, or other equipment records where required.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area, including packaging areas, pallet areas, waste areas and forklift charging zones.
• Conduct forklift care duties, including daily checks, cleanliness, battery charging and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
• Support safe warehouse operations by identifying hazards such as open cool room doors, high temperatures or blocked pathways, and escalating issues promptly.
• Provide general warehouse and administration support as required, including flexibility to assist across other DC locations when needed.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Current forklift licence.
• Current driver licence.
• Strong computer literacy, with the confidence and accuracy to use warehouse management systems, dispatch screens, label printing processes and basic software applications as part of daily operations.
• Previous experience in warehousing, stores, stock control or distribution centre environments.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in cold storage environments.
• Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced operational setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with drivers, warehouse staff, supervisors and management.
