Job summary

NZ Creameries in East Tamaki, Auckland, seeks a practical Warehouse Assistant Manager to coordinate daily activities, support stock accuracy and ensure production materials are available when needed. You will operate in a cold-store environment, oversee receipting, storage, dispatch, and inventory control, and work with the production team to meet schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehousing, stores or distribution, ideally within food manufacturing or another regulated environment.
• Current forklift licence, or ability to obtain and maintain one if required.
• Understanding receipting, stock movement, dispatch and inventory accuracy.
• Organised, practical approach with a strong focus on safety, quality, teamwork and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipting, scanning, labelling, storage, movement and put-away.
• Pick, check, load and supply materials to production.
• Prepare domestic and export orders for dispatch, including documentation and product handling.
• Maintain stock accuracy through system updates, stock checks, location control and discrepancy follow-up.
• Maintain high standards across health and safety, hygiene, housekeeping, cold-store control and product integrity.
• Coach and direct warehouse team members, escalating issues when needed.

NZ Creameries is seeking an organised, safety-focused Warehouse Assistant Manager to support the smooth running of our East Tamaki Ice Cream warehouse. This is a practical, hands-on role where accurate receipting, storage, supply and dispatch help keep production moving and customers supplied.

About the role

You will coordinate daily warehouse activity, support stock accuracy and product integrity, and ensure materials are available to production when needed. You will also provide direction to warehouse team members and escalated safety, quality, transport or compliance issues as required.

You will work in a warehouse and cold-store/freezer environment, with some manual handling, forklift operation, overtime, weekend work or peak-period support as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate receipting, scanning, labelling, storage, movement and put-away.
• Pick, check, load and supply materials and ingredients to production.
• Prepare domestic and export orders for dispatch, including documentation and product handling.
• Maintain stock accuracy through system updates, stock checks, location control and discrepancy follow-up.

• Support, coach and direct warehouse team members, escalating issues when needed.

About you

• Exposure to procedure review, corrective actions or continuous improvement.
