Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation invites students to join the External Affairs and Social Performance team at our Waihi operation for a paid internship. You will gain practical experience while contributing to mining communications and community engagement initiatives on-site in Waihi.

Ideal candidates are in their 2nd last or final year of study in Communications, Social Science, Public Relations, Marketing, Design, or Journalism, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor in Communications, Social Science, Public Relations, Marketing, Design or Journalism
• Unrestricted New Zealand working rights
• Available mid-November 2026 through mid-February 2027
• Accommodation options at Waihi or surrounding areas preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist External Affairs and Social Performance team on-site at Waihi
• Contribute to content creation for internal and external audiences
• Present experiences and learnings to Site Management at internship conclusion
