Job summary

OceanaGold is offering a paid Waihi Summer Internship in Communications. The role runs mid-November to mid-February at our Waihi operation, with a 9‑day fortnight and a 7:00am–4:30pm schedule (40.5 hours/week).

You’ll work in External Affairs and Social Performance, gaining hands-on experience on diverse comms projects and real mining initiatives on-site. You will be mentored by experienced professionals, collaborate with interns, and present outcomes to Site Management.

Qualifications

• Student in Diploma or Bachelor of Communications, Social Science, Public Relations, Marketing, Design or Journalism.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the External Affairs and Social Performance team on-site at Waihi.
• Contribute to content creation for internal/external audiences and events.
• Present learnings and project outcomes to site management at internship conclusion.
