Job summary

Bupa Merrivale Care Home in Whangārei is seeking a part-time Village Assistant to help run the office, support resident wellbeing, and coordinate activities and transport.

You will work 27.5 hours per week, 9am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday, supporting the Village Coordinator and engaging residents with a warm, welcoming approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in administration or customer service preferred.
• Good computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and professionalism.
• Hold a valid NZ driver's license with at least 5 years driving experience.
• Hold legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.

Bupa Merrivale Care Home is located in Te Kamo, Whangārei, in a peaceful setting surrounded by landscaped gardens and close to Kamo Village. The home provides rest home and hospital-level care.

If you're passionate about aged care, community living, and enhancing resident wellbeing, you'll play a key role in creating a positive and enriching experience for our residents.

As a Village Assistant, you’ll work alongside a supportive team to:

• Support the Village Coordinator with the day to day running of the office and administration
• Support the Village Coordinator with maintaining resident welfare and wellbeing
• Assist the Village Coordinator with specific orientation programmes for new residents and with day-to-day operations of the village
• Organise and implement activities and van trips with the resident, ensuring transport arrangements are in place
• Ensure residents are given opportunities to participate in all entertainment offerings and develop new skills and hobbies

What you’ll needto make it possible

• Previous experience in an administration or customer service role is preferable
• Good level of computer literacy, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service and proven customer focus
• Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism
• A current driver's license with at least five years driving experience in NZ as you will be required to drive a company van
• Hold legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
