Job summary

One Square Rate is seeking a Site Supervisor for full-time work in New Zealand's Canterbury region. The role offers an hourly pay of 40–45 NZD and requires 2 years of relevant experience or a Level 4 qualification or higher, with a Bachelor's degree or above preferred.

You must be flexible for weekends and shifts, committed long‑term, and ready to supervise and coordinate diverse construction activities on commercial and civil projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors in planning, organising and coordinating projects.
• Interpret drawings, regulations and codes of practice to support construction activities.
• Prepare and update sketches, working drawings and project documentation.
• Coordinate work programmes, monitor progress and schedule activities.
• Inspect work and materials to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
• Calculate project costs and assist in timeframe estimation.
• Collect site measurements using surveying instruments for planning and reporting.
• Prepare, edit and revise plans and construction drawings.

SITE SUPERVISOR

Job Title: SITE SUPERVISOR

Employment Type: Full‑Time

Pay: Hourly $40- $45

Number of Vacancies: 1-2 positions

2 years of relevant experience or a Level 4 or above qualification, Bachelor's degree or above; no major restrictions.

Must be flexible for work, able to work over the weekends, and must cover our required shifts. Long‑term and full commitments are required.

Assisted Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors in the planning, organisation and coordination of commercial and civil construction projects.

Interpreted architectural drawings, engineering plans, building regulations and codes of practice to support construction activities.

Prepared and updated preliminary sketches, working drawings, specifications and project documentation.

Coordinated work programmes, monitored project progress and assisted in scheduling construction activities.

Inspected construction work, materials and site activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulations and industry standards.

Calculated project costs, prepared quantity estimates and assisted in estimating project timeframes.

Collected site measurements and technical data using surveying instruments and other measurement equipment to support project planning and reporting.

Prepared, edited, and revised plans, maps, charts, and construction drawings using relevant software and documentation systems.

Assisted in coordinating labor, materials and equipment resources to support efficient project delivery.

Performed routine computations, plotted and analysed preliminary project data, and prepared technical reports for construction management.
