Job summary

Te Puna Mahara - Cromwell Memorial Events Centre in Cromwell, NZ is seeking a friendly Venue Customer Services Officer to ensure a welcoming, safe, and well-organised experience for all visitors and hirers. You will be the first point of contact, handling enquiries, guiding guests to rooms, supporting bookings, ticketing, and box office operations, and assisting with event setup.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles.
• Strong admin skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work full-time Tue-Sat with occasional evenings.
• Willingness to undertake health and safety training.
• Physically capable of event setup and manual duties.
• Experience in events, hospitality, tourism, retail, or community facilities is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for visitors with a warm, professional welcome.
• Answer enquiries in person, by phone, and via email.
• Welcome people with bookings and show them to rooms or event spaces.
• Greet visitors attending meetings or appointments and connect them with staff.
• Support venue bookings, event setup, ticketing, and box office operations.
• Help keep website content and booking systems up to date.
• Provide general administration support, including data entry and record keeping.
• Assist with retail and event operations as required, including covering breaks.
• Support health and safety in the venue, including acting as a Fire Warden when trained.
• Work collaboratively with the wider venue team as the facility grows.
