Job summary

Unison Contracting Services Limited in Rotorua is seeking a dedicated Arborist/Vegetation Controller to join our busy vegetation team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on maintaining safe clearances near power lines and performing routine arboreal tasks with modern equipment.

The ideal candidate will have arborist or forestry experience, a Level 3 Arboriculture qualification, and a clean Class 2 licence (Class 2 preferred).

Qualifications

• Arborist qualification and forestry experience required.
• Full NZ driver's licence; class 2 preferred.
• Commitment to health, safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Remove vegetation near power lines as directed.
• Carry out arborist tasks and handle equipment.
• Identify unsafe vegetation and report for maintenance.
• Maintain and service machinery and equipment.
• Assist with traffic control as required.
• Complete paperwork for invoicing and compliance.
• Follow health and safety requirements.

We are currently looking for looking for Arborist/Vegetation Controller to join our busy Vegetation Team in Rotorua.

This is a permanent full-time role with guaranteed fortnightly pay in a stable and supportive organisation.

Tasks include:

• Removing vegetation from close proximity to power lines
• Complete all arborist work tasks as directed
• Proactively identify and report any vegetation that would be unsafe to leave until programmed for routine maintenance
• Service and clean machinery and equipment
• Traffic control as required
• Completing paperwork and equipment return to enable job invoicing
• Comply with the Company's health and safety requirements

To be successful in this position you need:

• Full and clean drivers' licence (class 2 preferred)
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Arborist or forestry experience
• Level 3 Arboriculture (Level 4 is desirable)
• A good level of fitness
• Commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing
• Experience working around electricity networks (desired)
