Job summary

Cromwell General Tyres in New Zealand needs an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead the team, schedule technicians and ensure high-quality work in a busy tyre workshop. You will oversee tyre fitting, balancing and alignments while upholding strict safety and service standards.

You will be hands-on, mentor staff, manage stock and keep customers satisfied, with a focus on keeping operations safe, tidy and productive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a tyre workshop or commercial service centre.
• Experience leading or supervising a small team.
• Clear communication and good customer service.
• Strong focus on workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians.
• Oversee tyre fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment work.
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements.
• Manage customer enquiries, updates and resolution of issues.
• Monitor and maintain tyre, parts and consumable stock levels.
• Enforce health and safety policies and keep the workshop tidy and compliant.
• Manage daily workflow and minimise downtime.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Report to the Manager on operations, performance and stock needs.
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods.
