Cromwell General Tyres in Cromwell, NZ, seeks a Workshop Supervisor to oversee all workshop activity, lead technicians, manage stock, and maintain high service standards. You will be hands-on, train staff, and ensure safety and efficiency in daily operations.

The role combines leadership with practical tyre fitting, balancing and alignment work, and responsive customer service. Full-time permanent position with ongoing training and career development.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians.
• Oversee tire fitting, balancing and alignment work.
• Ensure work meets industry standards and safety rules.
• Manage customer enquiries and keep them updated.
• Monitor stock of tires, parts and consumables.
• Enforce health and safety policies and keep the workspace compliant.
• Lead daily workflow and minimize downtime.
• Mentor and train team members.
• Report to the Manager on operations and stock needs.
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods.

Hours: Monday– 8:00am–5:00pm; Saturday morning.

We supply, fit and maintain passenger, 4x4, light commercial, truck, agricultural and off-road tires, plus wheels and wheel alignments and balancing. Role Overview

You’ll oversee all workshop activity, lead and schedule the technicians, maintain quality standards, manage stock, and keep customers happy. You’ll be hands-on, lead by example, and keep the workshop safe, tidy and productive.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment work
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements
• Manage customer enquiries, updates and resolution of issues
• Monitor and maintain tire, parts and consumable stock levels
• Enforce all health and safety policies and keep the workshop tidy and compliant
• Manage daily workflow and minimise downtime
• Train and mentor team members
• Report to the Manager on operations, performance and stock needs
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods.
