Job summary

Best NZ Movers Limited – Wellington, North Island is seeking two Truck Drivers to join our dynamic team based in Wellington. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to clients across various locations.

This role requires a Class 2 license, up to 6 months experience, and a willingness to obtain a forklift license. You will work at least 30 hours per week with competitive hourly rates of 30–35 NZD.

Qualifications

• Class 2 license or equivalent.
• 6 months experience or Level 2 qualification.
• Forklift license or willing to obtain.
• Ability to maintain knowledge of traffic laws and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading.
• Loading and unloading goods using lifting and tipping devices.
• Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles.
• Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely.
• Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight.
• Ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage.
• Verifying loading documents, checking condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status and any issues encountered.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and regulations.

• Hourly Rate: $30 - $35
• Minimum Weekly Hours: 30

Key Responsibilities

• Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends, as needed.
