Job summary

NK Carriers Limited in the Wellington region is seeking a committed and reliable Class 5 Truck Driver to join our team and help deliver freight safely and on time. The role involves regional travel with all travel and fuel costs covered by the employer.

You must hold a NZ Class 5 license (or overseas equivalent), be able to pass drug and alcohol tests and MOJ check, and be willing to work a roster including days and nights from Monday to Saturday, minimum 30 hours per week.

NK Carriers Limited is a logistics provider, delivering reliable and efficient transport solutions. We are seeking a committed and reliable Class 5 Truck Driver to join our team in the Wellington region and help maintain our strong focus on excellent service and timely deliveries. The candidate will be required to travel within the region, and all travel and fuel costs will be covered by the employer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regular safety checks to ensure your vehicle can be driven safely.
• Ensuring your vehicle is loaded and unloaded in a safe and compliant manner.
• Safely driving your vehicle to deliver freight on time.
• Safely parking your vehicle overnight and over off-days.
• Managing freight documents, dockets, and associated paperwork.
• Maintaining an accurate logbook at all times.
• Securing your load properly.
• Keep your truck clean from inside and outside.
• Doing floating work and going from one place to other from day to day.
• Interacting professionally with clients, law enforcement, the public and others.
• Reporting on any incidents or noteworthy events.

Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $30 to $35 perhour.

Requirements for the role:

• Valid NZ Class 5 driving license or overseas Heavy Truck Driver's License.
• Relevant work experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Comfortable working rostered day and night shifts from Monday to Saturday.
• Must pass drug and alcohol tests.
• Ability to unload heavy goods from the truck.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Reliable, motivated, and hardworking.
• Able to pass the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check.
