Job summary

PlaceMakers Mt Wellington is seeking a permanent full-time Trade Support Team Member to provide essential support across trade operations. You will work with Account Managers and suppliers to ensure a seamless customer experience, handling inquiries, advising on products, preparing quotes, and coordinating orders for timely deliveries.

The role values clear communication, organisational strength, and a proactive, team-focused attitude within Fletcher Building Group.

Qualifications

• Experience in trade support, sales coordination or internal sales.
• Strong customer service and communication skills across stakeholders.
• Ability to prepare accurate quotes and pricing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers and suppliers face to face, over the phone, and via email.
• Recommend suitable products, process orders, and manage sales documentation.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to track orders and arrange timely deliveries.
• Take clear briefs from stakeholders and prepare accurate quote documentation.
• Collaborate with Account Managers and Team Leaders to capture opportunities through planning.

As a Trade Support Team Member, you’ll be the heartbeat of the branch providing essential support and clear communication across our trade operations. You’ll work closely with Account Managers, and suppliers to ensure a seamless experience and help to build a team culture that nails the basics. With a flexible, can-do attitude, you’ll manage customer inquiries, offer product advice, prepare quotes and pricing, and find solutions to meet customer needs.

• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to track orders and arrange timely deliveries
• Take clear briefs from stakeholders and prepare accurate quote documentation
• Collaborate with Account Managers and Team Leaders to capture opportunities through daily and weekly planning

Permanent full-time role based at PlaceMakers Mt Wellington, offering 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will be more than just a sales support person, you’ll be a natural communicator and relationship builder who understands the needs of our customers. Your experience in the building or construction industry, combined with strong knowledge of building materials and products, means you know how to connect with builders, can identify opportunities, and act as a trusted advisor to deliver tailored solutions and assistance that make a real impact

• Proven experience in trade support, sales coordination, customer service, or internal sales
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and perform under pressure
• Highly organised with sharp attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Tech-savvy and comfortable working across multiple systems
• Knowledge of building products & materials and/or a solid understanding of construction processes is advantageous
