Job summary

Millennium Services Group Limited in Invercargill is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to oversee a portfolio of cleaning and security contracts across the Southland Region. You will lead Supervisors across the region, be visible on sites, work with clients and teams, solving problems and ensuring we deliver what we promise.

The role requires a hands-on leadership style, 3–5 years in facilities operations, strong budget and labour management, and the ability to coordinate rosters, payroll

• 3–5 years' experience within cleaning, security, facilities, contract services or similar operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of operational performance across your regional portfolio
• Lead, coach and develop Supervisors and frontline teams across multiple sites
• Build trusted relationships with clients and become a key operational partner
• Ensure contractual commitments, KPIs and service standards are consistently achieved
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management and workforce planning
• Manage labour, rostering, payroll, budgets and operational reporting
• Conduct site visits and quality audits and lead service recovery where required
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and service delivery
• Ensure strong health & safety, regulatory and company compliance
• Provide practical, hands-on leadership when your teams need support

The Role

Reporting directly to the National Operations Manager - New Zealand, you will oversee a portfolio of cleaning and security contracts across the Southland Region.

You’ll lead Supervisors across the Region. This isn’t a desk-based management role. You’ll be visible across your sites, working with clients and teams, solving problems, identifying opportunities and making sure we consistently deliver what we promise.

Millennium operates 24/7, so flexibility to support your teams and clients outside standard business hours will occasionally be required.

What You’ll Be Doing

What You’ll Bring

• 3-5 years' experience within cleaning, security, facilities, contract services or a similar operational environment
• Proven experience leading Supervisors and frontline teams across multiple locations
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Commercial awareness, including experience managing labour costs, budgets and operational performance
• Confidence working with rostering, payroll and reporting systems
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
• Excellent organisation, problem-solving and quality assurance capability
• The ability to prioritise and make decisions in a fast-moving operational environment
• A practical, hands-on leadership style and willingness to get out amongst your teams
• Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation when required
• A current full New Zealand Driver Licence
