Job summary

Millennium Services Group in Christchurch is seeking a hands-on weekend operations lead. You will be visible across our sites, supporting frontline teams and ensuring the weekend service runs smoothly.

You’ll visit sites, check quality, respond to operational issues and make decisions to keep services delivering on client expectations. You’ll lead weekend teams, coordinate across Christchurch sites, conduct inspections, manage rostering, and support training while upholding health and safety

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising frontline teams.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems independently.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
• Proven ability to prioritise across multiple sites in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience with rostering, stock management and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and mentor weekend cleaning teams.
• Coordinate weekend operations across multiple Christchurch sites.
• Conduct site visits, quality inspections and spot checks.
• Ensure cleaning standards, KPIs and client expectations are achieved.
• Act as the first point of contact for weekend operational matters.
• Organise shift coverage and respond to unexpected absences.
• Support rostering and workforce planning.
• Deliver consumables and equipment to sites when required.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and used correctly.
• Maintain strong health and safety standards.
• Respond to client requests and resolve issues quickly.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery.

The Role

You won\'t spend your weekend sitting behind a desk. You\'ll be visiting sites, checking quality, supporting your people, responding to operational issues and making decisions to keep services running.

About You

We\'re looking for someone who is reliable, confident and comfortable taking ownership.

You\'ll ideally bring:

• Previous commercial cleaning experience
• Experience leading or supervising frontline teams
• Strong leadership and people-management skills
• The confidence to make decisions and solve problems independently
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills
• The ability to prioritise across multiple sites in a fast-moving environment
• Experience coaching and training team members
• Good knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, machinery and products
• A sound understanding of workplace health and safety
• Experience with rostering, stock management and basic computer systems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and employees
• A proactive approach and pride in delivering great service
