Scott Machinery Ltd in Christchurch is seeking a technically capable Sales Engineer to join our Hornby-based Christchurch team. You will work with manufacturers to select equipment from CNC machine tools to laser cutting machinery, combining engineering knowledge with sales skills.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in CNC machining, toolmaking, fitting and turning, fabrication or a related engineering field.
• Ability to understand machinery, manufacturing processes and technical specifications.
• Clear written and spoken English; good organisation and follow-through.
• NZ driver licence and legal right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Visiting and consulting with engineering and manufacturing customers.
• Gathering specifications, process information and production requirements.
• Recommending machinery and fabrication solutions.
• Preparing and presenting accurate quotations.
• Managing customer enquiries, follow-ups and sales opportunities.
• Developing lasting customer and supplier relationships.
• Maintaining accurate customer, quotation and sales records.
• Supporting customers through the ordering and equipment-supply process.
