Job summary

Auckland Council’s Technology Services team is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to lead our Connectivity team on a journey to modernise our technology landscape. This role has ownership across key network and security connectivity services.

You will translate complex technical requirements into clear decisions and priorities, maintain a prioritised roadmap and backlog, and collaborate with architects, engineering and vendors to ensure secure, resilient and scalable connectivity

Qualifications

• Experience with product ownership in technology environments.

• Understanding of enterprise connectivity technologies (LAN, WiFi, WAN, remote access, cloud connectivity).

Auckland Council’s Technology Services team is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to lead our Connectivity team on a journey to modernise our technology landscape.

This role has ownership across key network and security connectivity services.

You will have input into product direction and maintain a prioritised roadmap and backlog, ensuring our network remains secure, resilient, scalable and fit for purpose. You will balance lifecycle and remediation requirements with emerging technology needs, technical debt, operational performance and demand from teams consuming these services.

Working closely with architects, engineering and operational teams, vendors and service owners, you will help establish clear standards and pathways that enable teams to effectively consume and build upon our connectivity services.

You will bring strong product ownership capability with technical fluency across network and security connectivity services.

You will be comfortable operating across complex technology environments and working with a broad range of technical and business stakeholders. You will be confident making prioritisation decisions across new investment, lifecycle, security, resilience and continuous improvement.

Ideally, you will bring experience across:

• Product roadmaps, backlog management and prioritisation
• Leading and supporting technical teams to succeed
• Enterprise connectivity technologies including LAN, Wi Fi, WAN, remote access and cloud connectivity
• Technology lifecycle, resilience, security and remediation
• Service health, monitoring and operational supportability

You will be able to translate complex technical requirements, risks and technical trade-offs into clear decisions and priorities, while ensuring the teams you lead have the standards, documentation and support pathways they need.
