Job summary

MAS - Medical Assurance Society in Wellington is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide expert support across our cloud technology environment and assist the IT Helpdesk with escalated issues. You’ll maintain Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID and Windows Server technologies, and contribute to technology implementations and wider digital initiatives.

• Identifying root causes and recommending technology or process improvements
• Administering systems and applications to maintain appropriate user access
• Completing software updates, monthly patching and device maintenance
• Supporting endpoint hardware, networks and computing infrastructure
• Maintaining accurate asset, system, user and process documentation
• Contributing technical expertise to projects and wider business initiatives
• Providing occasional after-hours support when required

About the Role

As a Systems Engineer, you'll provide expert support across our cloud technology environment while assisting the IT Helpdesk with escalated and complex issues. You'll support and maintain systems including Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID and Windows Server technologies. You'll also contribute to technology implementations, system improvements and wider Innovation and Digital initiatives.

Responsibilities

Required Skills

• At least four years' experience supporting IT systems in an enterprise environment
• Experience supporting endpoint and network hardware
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 technologies (SharePoint / Intune / Exchange / Entra)
• Experience with Entra ID or Active Directory and Windows Servers
• Experience working within a change-controlled environment
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage your work independently
