Job summary

MAS - Medical Assurance Society in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, Security to join the IT Operations team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The role covers secure infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks and end-user services, working with internal teams, vendors and security partners.

Based in Wellington or Auckland, you will maintain secure operation of systems, help strengthen MAS's security posture and contribute to incident response, vulnerability management and resilience

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows, Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong infrastructure administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of identity and access management, vulnerability management, monitoring and endpoint security.
• Experience with Microsoft security technologies such as Entra ID, Defender, Intune or Sentinel.
• Networking experience, ideally in Cisco environments.
• Exposure to incident response, risk reduction and security improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.

Are you a hands-on infrastructure and security professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems while helping maintain secure and resilient technology environments?

We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer, Security to join our IT Operations team on a 12-month fixed term basis. In this role, you'll help support and enhance the secure operation of our infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks and end-user technology services while working closely with internal teams, vendors and security partners. This role can be based in either our Wellington or Auckland Offices.

About The Role

This is a varied role that combines systems engineering, operational support and security best practice. You'll play a key part in maintaining and improving our technology environment, supporting the delivery of technology initiatives and helping strengthen MAS's security posture.

Key Areas Of Responsibility Include

• Supporting the secure operation of infrastructure, cloud services and business-critical systems.
