Downer & Company in Hastings, NZ seeks a Contract Engineer to lead contract management and project execution in a surfacing environment. You will oversee contracts, budgets, and schedules, while coordinating with estimators, supervisors, and clients to ensure safety and quality across projects.

The role emphasizes strong negotiation, financial oversight, and continuous improvement in a collaborative team setting with a commitment to Zero Harm principles.

Qualificações

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in contract management, project delivery, and financial oversight.
• Experience in surfacing, sealing, or pavement construction would be advantageous.
• Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project as well as AWM software.
• A commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Responsabilidades

• Work closely with estimators, contract managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.
• Manage assigned contracts efficiently, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, timelines and financial targets.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring quality, safety, and environmental standards are met.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and project outcomes.
• Contribute to developing cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions for contract bids and variations.
• Lead by example in promoting a Zero Harm culture in all operations.
