Job summary

Healthvision NZ is seeking compassionate, resilient support workers for South Canterbury Timaru and Ashburton. The role involves personal care, mobility assistance, community access, and medication support within a flexible, part-time roster.

Ideal candidates have care experience or relevant health qualifications, with a NZ driver’s license and a willingness to rotate shifts, including weekends. Training and onboarding are provided to new staff.

• Access to a car and full NZ Driver's Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

Job Location: South Canterbury Timaru and Ashburton

Employment Type: Part- Time (Up to 29 Hours)

We offer a range of employment opportunities including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process.

Days of Work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.

The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods, depending on the specific needs of the people we support.

About you | He momo

You are a calm but confident natured individual who can demonstrate resilience and understand the challenges of service users. There are many responsibilities associated with being a support worker which can be challenging and fulfilling. It is rewarding when you are part of the support that enables a person to live their best lives in the community.

The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites):

• Ideally prior personal care experience is preferred
• Familiarity with complex medical conditions, like spinal injuries, traumatic brain injury
• A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial and those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided)
• Access to a car and ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)
• Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
• Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must.

Pay Band: $25.22 - $31.40 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 – hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
