Job summary

NZCL in Auckland is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist people with disabilities in their own homes within the Central/South Auckland Whanau Support team. You will help with daily living, personal cares, meals, household tasks and building life skills in a supportive, team‑based environment.

Shifts include Monday 3-6pm, Friday 11am-1pm and Saturday 10:30am‑4:30pm, with ongoing weekly commitments and potential sleepover payments on some rosters.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or supporting people with disabilities preferred.
• Full driver's license is essential.
• Ability to work across rosters, including overnights.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities and personal cares.
• Support with meals, household tasks, and life skills.
• Help participants participate in community activities and routines.
• Work as part of a team delivering 24/7 support with possible sleepover payments.

We are looking for a Support Worker to help the people we support in our Central/South Auckland Whanau Support team.

Monday 3-6pm

Friday 11am-1pm

Saturday - 10:30am - 4:30pm

Please note that the following shifts are ongoing weekly commitments and are required as part of this role.

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. - The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

• People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenges behaviours.
• Full driver's license is essential.
• Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
