Job summary

PTL seeks a senior structural engineer to join a dynamic team. Based in Queenstown, you will initially be PTL’s only Queenstown-based engineer, supporting a portfolio of active local projects and working closely with Christchurch and Auckland offices to grow a small local team of structural and fire engineers.

You will lead design and monitoring efforts, mentor teammates, and share knowledge while focusing on people and client outcomes.

Qualifications

• An internationally recognised tertiary degree in structural engineering.
• 5+ years of NZ-based structural engineering experience.
• Chartered structural engineer or on track to chartership.
• Proven track record leading design and monitoring of construction projects.
• Strong focus on people, relationships and knowledge sharing.
• Leadership mindset with ability to mentor a local team.

Job description

PTL are looking for a senior structural engineer to join our dynamic team of structural engineers and fire engineers. The role will be based in Queenstown as a satellite to our Christchurch and Auckland offices.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will initially be PTL’s only Queenstown-based engineer, supporting a strong portfolio of active Queenstown projects. Working closely with our Christchurch and Auckland offices, the role offers the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of PTL’s Queenstown presence, with a view to build and mentor a small local team of structural and fire engineers.

The successful candidate will:

• Have an internationally recognised tertiary degree in structural engineering
• Have at least 5 years’ NZ based experience
• Be a chartered structural engineer or be on track to gain chartership
• Have a strong track record of leading the design and monitoring of construction projects
• Have a love of learning and sharing knowledge
• Be focused on people and relationships
• Be passionate about the opportunity to grow others, motivated by a leadership role, with the ability to own the delivery of high quality client outcomes.
