Job summary

PTL Structural & Fire are seeking a senior structural engineer to join their Queenstown team. The role supports active Queenstown projects and liaises with Christchurch and Auckland offices to grow the local presence.

The successful candidate will lead design and monitoring of projects, mentor a small local team, and contribute to PTL's growth in Queenstown. A strong track record and NZ-based experience are required.

Qualifications

• Holds internationally recognised tertiary degree in structural engineering.
• Chartered structural engineer or on track to gain chartership.
• Proven track record leading design and monitoring of construction projects.
• Strong emphasis on people, relationships and knowledge sharing.
• Interest in mass timber design and growth of local capability.

PTL Structural & Fire – Queenstown, South Island

PTL are looking for a senior structural engineer to join their dynamic team of structural engineers and fire engineers. The role will be based in Queenstown as a satellite to their Christchurch and Auckland offices.

The successful candidate will initially be PTL's only Queenstown based engineer, supporting a strong portfolio of active Queenstown projects. Working closely with our Christchurch and Auckland offices, the role offers the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of PTL's Queenstown presence, with a view to build and mentor a small local team of structural and fire engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and monitoring of construction projects
• Support a strong portfolio of active Queenstown projects
• Work closely with Christchurch and Auckland offices
• Build and mentor a small local team of structural and fire engineers
• Contribute to the continued growth of PTL's Queenstown presence

About you

• Internationally recognised tertiary degree in structural engineering
• At least 5 years' NZ based experience
• Chartered structural engineer or on track to gain chartership
• Strong track record of leading the design and monitoring of construction projects
• Love of learning and sharing knowledge
• Focused on people and relationships
