Job summary

Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities is seeking an HR Advisor on a fixed term contract to 30 June 2028. You will partner with the People Services team and leaders across Kāinga Ora to deliver trusted HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle.

You will coach leaders to navigate employment matters, build high-performing teams, ensure compliance with NZ legislation, and contribute to initiatives that enhance people practices and employee experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience providing practical HR guidance to leaders and staff across the employee lifecycle.
• Solid understanding of NZ employment legislation and best practice.
• Ability to coach leaders, influence decisions and deliver credible, timely HR advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical, customer-focused HR advice and coaching to leaders and employees.
• Support leaders across the employee lifecycle, including performance, conduct, development, leave and wellbeing matters.
• Partner across the People Services team to deliver people initiatives and change programmes.
• Assist leaders to apply employment legislation, policies and agreements.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
• Collaborate with specialist People teams to deliver consistent people solutions.
• Use people data and insights to identify trends and inform decision-making.
• Contribute to People Team projects and continuous improvement.
