Job summary

Bazaar Limited trading as VIP's MiniMart in Temuka is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily retail and food service operations. You will oversee staffing, rosters, training and performance, while driving sales and controlling stock. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills are essential.

The role requires at least 2 years' retail management experience or a relevant tertiary qualification in Business or Retail Management. Weekend availability is expected in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, direct and control the daily operations of the store.

• Monitor sales performance and maximise revenue and profitability.
• Manage purchasing, inventory control and stock levels.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve enquiries and complaints.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and NZ legislation.
• Oversee cash handling, banking, POS reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Coordinate online orders and delivery operations.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing business.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise, direct and control the daily operations of the store.

Lead, supervise, train and motivate retail and food service staff.

Recruit, induct and manage employee performance.

Prepare staff rosters and allocate daily duties.

Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to maximise revenue and profitability.

Manage purchasing, inventory control and stock levels.

Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve customer enquiries and complaints.

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and all relevant New Zealand legislation.

Oversee cash handling, banking, POS reconciliation and financial reporting.

Manage merchandising, pricing, promotional activities and product displays.

Monitor budgets, operating costs and business performance.

Coordinate online orders and delivery operations.

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers.

Ensure the store is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, presentation and operational efficiency.

Prepare operational reports and implement continuous business improvements.

Skills & Experience

Applicants must have:

At least 2 years' relevant retail management experience, or

A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Retail Management, Management or a related discipline.

The successful applicant will also demonstrate:

Proven leadership and people management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.

Experience with POS systems, inventory management and cash handling.

Sound organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced retail and food service environment.

Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays when required.
