Job summary

Bazaar Limited operates VIP's MiniMart and VIP's Vape in Temuka. We are hiring two enthusiastic Retail Sales Assistants to join our busy convenience store and vape retail operation.

You will deliver excellent customer service, process sales, help with takeaway food, and maintain stock and displays. The role demands reliability, good communication, and the ability to work weekends and evenings as rostered.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, customer service or hospitality is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer and POS system skills.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Reliable and able to work independently or in a team.
• Weekend/evening/public holiday availability on a rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and assist with product queries.
• Process sales accurately using the POS system.
• Handle cash, EFTPOS and other payments; balance tills.
• Replenish shelves and maintain stock levels.
• Display products and manage merchandising.
• Ensure prices and labels are accurate.
• Assist with takeaway food and vape products where allowed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organised store.
• Support stocktakes and inventory control.
• Follow health and safety and company policies.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth store operations.
• Carry out other duties as directed by the Store Manager.

About Us

Bazaar Limited operates VIP's MiniMart and VIP's Vape from one business location in Temuka. Our business includes a busy convenience store, a popular takeaway food operation, online ordering and delivery services, and a specialist vape retail store. We are looking for two enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistants to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and assist customers with product enquiries.
• Process sales accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Receive cash, EFTPOS and other payments and balance tills at the end of each shift.
• Replenish shelves and maintain stock levels.
• Receive, unpack and display incoming stock.
• Maintain attractive product displays and merchandising standards.
• Ensure products are correctly priced and labelled.
• Assist customers with convenience store, takeaway food and vape product purchases (where legally permitted and in accordance with New Zealand legislation).
• Prepare takeaway food and hot beverages in accordance with company procedures (where required).
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Assist with stocktakes and inventory control.
• Follow Health & Safety, Food Safety and company policies at all times.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient store operations.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the Store Manager.

Skills & Experience

Applicants should have:

• Previous experience in retail, customer service or hospitality is preferred but not essential.
