Job summary

Lumino Ilam Orthodontics in Christchurch is seeking a reliable Sterilisation Assistant / Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis, with Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This varied role combines sterilisation and front-d desk duties, supporting infection control, room preparation, patient reception, calls, and appointments within New Zealand's leading dental network.

Qualifications

• Experience in a dental, healthcare, sterilisation or customer service environment.
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, professional approach with patients.
• Confident using computer systems and learning new software.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Infection control and patient safety commitment.
• Reliability, punctuality and positive team attitude.
• Sterilisation experience or certification is advantageous but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sterilise and prepare instruments following infection control protocols.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilisation trays for clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate sterilisation records and ensure equipment works correctly.
• Welcome patients and create a positive first impression.
• Answer phone calls and assist with patient enquiries.
• Schedule and confirm appointments using our practice management system.
• Support patient check-in/check-out and maintain a welcoming reception area.
• Assist with administrative tasks and general practice operations.
• Collaborate with the clinical team for smooth daily operations.
