Job summary

Te Awamutu College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join our well-established Learning Support Department. This full-time, permanent role involves working with ORS-funded students and others with diverse learning needs in a small-class setting, supporting literacy, numeracy, arts, and life skills.

Applicants should have experience with diverse learners and a background in primary and/or special education would be advantageous.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher with a strong commitment to inclusive education to join our well-established learning support department.

This full-time, permanent position involves working with ORS-funded students and learners with a range of additional learning needs in a small class environment. The successful applicant will be supported to plan and deliver engaging learning in literacy, numeracy, arts, and life skills, while supporting students to develop independence, confidence, and meaningful participation in school life.

Applicants should have experience working with students with diverse learning needs and be skilled at adapting learning to meet individual goals. A background in primary education and/or special education would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will:

• Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive practices and equitable learning outcomes.
• Have strong experience teaching literacy and numeracy.
• Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, whānau, external agencies/specialists, and other members of the Learning Support team.
• Contribute positively to a supportive and student-centred department.
