Job summary

Brunswick invites applications for a Software Quality Tester II in Auckland, NZ. You will work with the Product Development and Engineering team to ensure embedded software/hardware quality, validating Linux and Android platforms, and developing test automation.

This onsite role requires collaboration with software and hardware engineers and a strong problem-solving mindset. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in software testing, experience with embedded systems, and Python/C/C++ skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or validation.
• Experience with software and hardware validation.
• Comfortable working in Linux command-line environments.
• Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
• Preferred: programming experience in C, C++, Java, or Python; ISTQB certification.

Position Overview

As part of the talented Product Development and Engineering team, The Software Quality Tester II is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of embedded software and hardware solutions through testing, validation, and automation. The role works closely with software developers, hardware engineers, and project teams to support embedded Linux- and Android-based products. It involves identifying defects, verifying system functionality, and contributing to the delivery of reliable, high-quality solutions. Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of embedded systems and hardware/software integration.
• Familiarity with Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
• Knowledge of Android CTS and VTS frameworks.
• ISTQB certification or experience working in an Agile development environment.
