Job summary

Bluecurrent, a leader in smart metering and digital solutions in New Zealand and Australia, is seeking a Senior Test Analyst to join our high-performing Digital team. You will design and execute robust testing approaches for our complex digital solutions, driving reliability and performance.

You will work closely with stakeholders in an agile DevOps environment, develop test plans, automate where possible with Playwright and Postman, and mentor peers to uplift testing capability.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Hands-on testing across functional, integration, regression and acceptance testing.
• Experience in agile teams and DevOps practices.
• Proficient in test automation using Playwright and Postman.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine test plans, test cases, and automation suites.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into test coverage.
• Work in an agile DevOps environment to embed quality throughout delivery.
• Identify defects, analyze root causes, and work with developers for fixes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks and tools.

Are you an experienced testing professional who loves turning complex challenges into high-quality software outcomes? Join our high-performing Digital team at Bluecurrent as a Senior Test Analyst, where your deep expertise will directly influence the reliability and performance of the solutions we deliver.

In this role, you'll design and execute robust testing approaches, contribute to modern quality practices including automation and play a key role in ensuring we release exceptional software that meets the needs of our customers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop, execute, and continuously refine test plans, test cases, and test automation suites for high-value digital solutions.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to deeply understand requirements and translate them into effective test coverage.
• Work within an agile DevOps environment to ensure quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Identify defects, analyse root causes, and work with developers to ensure rapid, high-quality resolutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices, frameworks, and tools.
• Share your expertise with peers and help uplift testing capability across the team.

What We're Looking For

You'll be a great fit if you're passionate about delivering quality software and enjoy staying ahead of modern testing trends. Ideally, you bring:

• 5-7 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Strong hands-on experience with functional, integration, regression and acceptance testing across complex systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience of business engagement.
• Experience working in agile teams and familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Proven experience of consistently applying software principles and best practices.
• Practical experience in test automation tools such as Playwright and Postman.
• Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail when designing tests and identifying defects.
