Job summary

Brunswick invites applications for a Software Quality Tester II in Auckland, NZ. You will work with the Product Development and Engineering team to ensure embedded software/hardware quality, validating Linux and Android platforms, and developing test automation.

This onsite role requires collaboration with software and hardware engineers and a strong problem-solving mindset. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in software testing, experience with embedded systems, and Python/C/C++ skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or validation.
Experience with software and hardware validation.
Comfortable working in Linux command-line environments.
Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
Preferred: programming experience in C, C++, Java, or Python; ISTQB certification.

Responsibilities

Review requirements and specifications to develop effective test coverage.
Design, execute, and maintain test cases.
Validate software releases on embedded Linux and Android platforms.
Verify hardware, peripherals, and system functionality during bring-up and development.
Develop and maintain test automation solutions.
Identify, document, and analyse defects, partnering with engineering teams to drive resolution.
