Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is seeking a senior Construction Site Supervisor for industrial projects in the North Island. You will lead construction crews, coordinate subcontractors and drive safe, efficient site operations on complex projects across petrochemical and energy environments.

The role reports to the project team and emphasizes hands‑on leadership, rigorous safety culture, and continuous improvement in productivity and compliance.

Qualifications

• Significant supervision experience in industrial environments (petrochemical, oil & gas, energy or process plant).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction and site operations.
• Experience overseeing piping, structural steel, pressure equipment and mechanical installations.
• Understanding of permit‑to‑work systems, isolations and high‑risk activities.
• Leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple fronts and manage competing priorities.

Construction Site Supervisor - Industrial Projects North Island - Full-Time - Industrial Construction

Are you an experienced Construction Site Supervisor with a proven track record delivering projects in petrochemical, oil & gas, energy, process plant, or heavy industrial environments?

We're seeking an experienced, hands‑on leader to take ownership of site operations, lead construction crews and subcontractors and deliver complex industrial projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This senior site leadership role offers genuine autonomy, long-term career prospects and the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineering, project management, quality and HSE teams.

About the Role

Reporting into the project team, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of site activities across a range of industrial construction projects.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Significant construction supervision experience within industrial, petrochemical, oil & gas, energy or process plant environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction and site operations.
• Experience overseeing piping, structural steel, pressure equipment and mechanical installations.
• Sound understanding of permit‑to‑work systems, isolations and high‑risk work activities.
• Strong leadership, communication and people management skills.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple work fronts and manage competing priorities.
• Experience working with clients, engineers, subcontractors and project teams.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, QA/QC processes and inspections.
• Knowledge of NZ HSE requirements and industry standards, with trade qualifications and relevant site certifications highly regarded.
