Job summary

Enterprise Recruitment is assisting a leading infrastructure contractor with a major water treatment plant upgrade in the Wellington region. We are seeking a Site Engineer with hands-on experience in water treatment or wastewater projects, focusing on installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment such as pumps and valves on site.

Ideal candidates have 2–3+ years on-site, a Mechanical or Civil engineering qualification, and strong communication and organisation skills.

Job description

An exciting opportunity is available with a leading infrastructure contractor delivering a major water treatment plant upgrade in the Wellington region.


We're looking for a Site Engineer with hands-on experience in water treatment or wastewater projects, particularly the installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, and associated infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with a mechanical background who enjoys working on site and is keen to develop their career within the civil infrastructure sector.


Key Responsibilities


  • Coordinate and manage construction activities on site

  • Support project delivery, planning, quality, and safety

  • Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders

  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment

  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget


About You


  • Experience in water treatment, wastewater, or similar infrastructure projects

  • Hands-on installation and commissioning experience with mechanical equipment

  • 2-3+ years experience on site

  • Mechanical / Civil engineering (or related) qualification

  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills

  • Based in New Zealand with the right to work here
