Job summary

Worley in Wellington is expanding its Water team and seeks a Project Engineer – Water to deliver critical water infrastructure projects across New Zealand. You will work closely with the Water Sector Lead to deliver projects that support resilient communities and sustainable development.

Qualifications

  • Degree in civil, mechanical, process, or environmental engineering with a focus on water.
  • Experience delivering three waters or water infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with local government, water authorities, utilities or industrial clients is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver water infrastructure projects across municipal, industrial and utilities sectors.
  • Support the delivery of water treatment, wastewater treatment, pipelines, pump stations, storage and network projects.
  • Partner with government, water authorities, contractors and clients to develop practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across civil, mechanical, process, electrical and structural disciplines.
  • Set objectives for project teams including scope, schedule, and budget targets.
  • Coordinate activities from concept through commissioning to ensure successful delivery.
  • Maintain health, safety and environmental focus across design, procurement and execution.

At Worley in Wellington, we are growing our Water team and are looking for a Project Engineer – Water to help deliver critical water infrastructure projects across New Zealand.

Working closely with our Water Sector Lead, you will play a key role in delivering projects that support resilient communities and sustainable development. What You’ll Do

The role responsibilities include:

  • Deliver a variety of water infrastructure projects across the municipal, industrial and utilities sectors.
  • Support the delivery of water treatment, wastewater treatment, pipelines, pump stations, storage and network infrastructure projects.
  • Partner closely with local government, water authorities, contractors and industrial clients to develop and deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams including civil, mechanical, process, electrical and structural specialists.
  • Set clear objectives for project teams including scope, schedule, productivity and budget targets.
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure successful technical delivery from concept through commissioning.
  • Administer projects, contracts and Worley processes to ensure business and customer objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain a strong health, safety and environmental focus across design, procurement and execution activities.
  • Monitor project performance, manage change, and support effective risk identification and mitigation.
  • Contribute to business development activities and help identify opportunities to support the growth of Worley’s water business.
What You’ll Have
  • A degree in Civil, Mechanical, Process, Environmental or a related Engineering discipline, with a focus on water.
  • Experience delivering three waters, utilities or other infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with local government, water authorities, utilities or industrial clients would be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of water treatment, wastewater treatment, pipelines, pump stations, storage facilities or network infrastructure design.
  • End-to-end project delivery experience, including design coordination, construction support and commissioning.
  • Understanding of project budgets, forecasting, schedules, resource planning and risk management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A collaborative and customer-focused approach with the ability to foster strong working relationships.
  • New Zealand citizenship, residency, or a valid work visa with the right to live and work in New Zealand.
