Job summary

Laminex in Taupo is seeking a Training & Capability Lead to build capability across our manufacturing teams. This is a hands-on, site-based role working with frontline leaders to ensure training is delivered effectively and skills are developed.

You will coordinate training activities, maintain competency frameworks, lead the Manufacturing Excellence programme, and support onboarding and training for new employees.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production, warehousing, engineering, trades or operational environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and work with employees at all levels.
• Experience coordinating training, competency programs, workforce development or operational improvement initiatives.
• Strong organisational and administration skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach and a genuine passion for developing people.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and drive training activities across the manufacturing site.
• Partner with Production Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors to identify capability needs.
• Ensure training plans, competency frameworks and skills matrices are maintained and delivered.
• Lead our Manufacturing Excellence programme.
• Support onboarding and training for new employees.
• Track training completion, compliance and competency requirements.
• Facilitate practical, on-the-job learning and development initiatives.
• Work with frontline teams to embed safe work practices and operational excellence.
• Continuously improve training processes and identify capability gaps.
