Job summary

Laminex New Zealand, a proud member of the Fletcher Building Group, is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to ensure plant equipment operates safely and efficiently. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and support long-term reliability at our new Taupo facility.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager – Manufacturing, the role requires 5+ years in general engineering/maintenance fitting, strong fault finding, and the ability to work autonomously in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter with manufacturing experience.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills and preventative maintenance mindset.
• Experience maintaining production line equipment and conveyors.
• Team oriented with effective collaboration and strong communication.
• Committed to Health & Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical maintenance across the production line, including presses, conveyors, motors, gearboxes.
• Deliver planned preventive maintenance and corrective actions within timelines.
• Identify and address maintenance issues impacting plant performance.
• Support capital projects and commissioning activities.
• Work collaboratively in a safety-focused team environment.
