Job summary

Laminex New Zealand, part of Fletcher Building, is seeking a Maintainer Operator for Taupō. This hands-on role involves operating, setting up, and maintaining plant equipment to ensure safe production.

You will set machine parameters, monitor performance, and assist with quality checks and forklift operations in a safety-focused team. We require 2+ years in a similar role, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience as a Maintainer Operator within a manufacturing environment (wood-based industry preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to operate, set up, and troubleshoot plant machinery.
• Strong commitment to health & safety, teamwork, and quality standards.
• Basic computer literacy, including Outlook, Word, and plant/system interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning, with the ability to quickly pick up new processes and apply technical knowledge in a hands-on environment.
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
• Basic computer literacy, with the ability to navigate digital control systems.
• Physically fit, with the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Class 1 Full Drivers Licence, and OSH Forklift Licence (advantageous).
• Electrical or mechanical trade qualification (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, and maintain plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.
• Set machine parameters, monitor performance, and make real-time adjustments.
• Support quality checks, troubleshooting, and forklift operations to keep production running smoothly.
• Work within a safety-focused environment with pre-employment medical testing and background checks.
• Collaborate with teams and follow procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
