Job summary

Fred Recruitment Pte Ltd in New Zealand is seeking a hands-on Shift Engineer to keep the factory running smoothly across multiple production and packing lines. You will troubleshoot and repair equipment, reduce downtime, and work closely with the production team.

Two positions are available for day, afternoon or night shifts with rotating hours, including weekend coverage. FMCG manufacturing experience is preferred and a proactive, reliable team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work rotating day/night shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment across multiple production and packing lines.

• Rotate through day, afternoon and night shifts, including weekend coverage as required.
• Support Engineering team in a 2IC capacity where needed.
• Update equipment and circuit records after changes or modifications.

As aShift Engineer, you'll play a vital role in keeping the factory running smoothly by working closely with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues across multiple product and packing lines.

About the Role

Think of this as a kitchen environment, on a larger scale. As a Shift Engineer, you'll play a vital role in keeping the factory running smoothly by working closely with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues across multiple product and packing lines.

We currently have two positions available - one on night shift and one on day shift. Both roles require the flexibility to rotate through shifts, including covering weekend shifts, as needed.

Shifts

Day -7:00am - 3:15pm

Afternoon - 2:45 pm - 11:15pm

Night shift - 11:15pm - 7:15am

• Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment across multiple production and packing lines
• Diagnose and resolve faults in a timely manner to reduce downtime and keep the plant running smoothly
• Rotate through day and night shifts, including providing weekend coverage as required
• Support the Engineering team in a 2IC capacity where needed
• Update equipment/circuit records after any changes or modifications are made

About You

We're looking for a qualified Engineer with a solid background in FMCG manufacturing, ideally within a food or factory environment, along with hands-on experience working with line machinery. Experience as a good 2IC Engineer is highly regarded. You'll be someone who takes initiative and pride in their work, is a proactive team player and problem solver.

• Background in FMCG manufacturing, working across product and packing lines
• Experience working with line machinery in a factory or industrial setting
• Able and willing to work rotating shifts (day/night) and be flexible across hours, including weekends
• Reliable, down to earth, responsible and uses their initiative
