Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a reliable, mechanically qualified person to join our Christchurch day shift as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair across production areas, in collaboration with shift electricians and supervisors to meet deadlines.

The role requires 2+ years with mechanical components, familiarity with pneumatic controls, motor drive systems, and CMMS.

Qualifications

• Industrial background required.
• Familiar with pneumatic controls and motor drive systems.
• 2+ years' experience with mechanical components.
• Strong safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Adaptable with fault finding and problem solving.
• Able to work autonomously and in a team.
• Able to read and work with engineering diagrams.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Work with shift electricians and supervisors to meet production deadlines.
• Maximise equipment availability through maintenance activities across production areas.
• Display sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.
• React quickly, fault find, and work confidently with engineering diagrams.

Requirements:

• Have an industrial background.
• Be familiar with pneumatic controls and motor drive systems, along with operating lathes, milling machines and welders.
• Have 2+ years' experience working with mechanical components.
• Show a high awareness of safety and safe work practices, adhering to company safety standards.
• Have meticulous attention to detail and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Bring a flexible approach to fault finding and problem solving.
• Be adaptable and able to quickly adjust to the changing demands of the business.
• Hold yourself to a high professional standard.
• Be self-motivated.
• Show excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Be able to understand and work with Computer Managed Maintenance Systems.
• Have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a dynamic maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

• Working with shift electricians and supervisors to ensure production requirements and deadlines are met effectively and efficiently.
• Maximising production equipment availability through the implementation of maintenance activities across all production areas.

• Reacting quickly, fault finding, and working confidently with engineering diagrams.
