Job summary

Fred Recruitment Pte Ltd in New Zealand is seeking a hands-on production leader to take charge of a brand-new production line coming online. You will manage a small team of 8-9, run the line autonomously day shift, report to management, and help shape how the line operates as it develops.

The role offers practical scope to implement processes, improve instructions, and ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety procedures are met.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new production line from the ground up. You'll help shape how the line runs, working out the detail and contributing to the instructions and processes as they're developed. You'll manage a small, close-knit team of 8-9, running the line autonomously day-to-day while reporting into management, with a clear path to progress your role as you grow into the position.

• Calculate quantities and requirements accurately to support planning and output.
• Get hands-on with fault-finding and troubleshooting across the process line.

About You

You're a confident, hands-on leader with a background in manufacturing, from packing and FMCG production, ideally within a kitchen, bakery, or food-manufacturing environment. You think outside the box, take initiative, and enjoy being part of working out how things should run rather.

• Proven experience in a team leader, supervisor, or shift management role.
• Manufacturing background in packing/FMCG — kitchen, bakery, or food production and packaging experience highly regarded..
• Good mechanical understanding of process lines, comfortable getting stuck in for fault-finding.
• Proactive, practical mindset — happy to take initiative and help build out processes and instructions.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
