Job summary
TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Shift Electrician for a major industrial operation in Southland, New Zealand. You will work a 4 on, 4 off pattern with 12-hour shifts (8am–8pm / 8pm–8am) in a large-scale processing facility focused on reliability and uptime.
Responsibilities include fault finding, preventive maintenance on HV/LV equipment, and work on motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems. You will log work in CMMS and support safety and handover processes.
Qualifications
- NZ registered electrician (EWRB) is a firm requirement.
- Solid industrial electrical experience; heavy industry preferred but not essential.
- Competent with VSDs, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
- Able to work independently on shift and make sound decisions under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve electrical faults across a large industrial plant.
- Carry out planned and preventive maintenance on HV and LV equipment.
- Work on motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.
- Log work in CMMS and contribute to shift handover records.
- Collaborate with reliability team on longer-term improvements.
- Support a strong team safety culture and shift handover.
- Assist contractor-led projects and upgrades as required.
