Job summary

Goodman Fielder Limited in New Zealand is seeking a maintenance engineer / electrician. The role focuses on safety, quality, reactive and preventative maintenance, efficiency, and cost-effective management of the Engineering function, including plant and buildings, project work, and contractor oversight.

Shifts are day-based, with on-call nights. You will support action plans, mitigate risks, drive CI and plant improvements, and ensure QA/HSE compliance while delivering reliable machinery

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification with EWRB registration required.
• Experience with root cause analysis of PLCs (Siemens & Allen-Bradley).
• Health, Safety and Environment knowledge, including machinery guarding.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn new skills.
• Basic computer documentation skills in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support action plans and innovate to improve maintenance efficiency.
• Mitigate risk to people, environment, and products through safety practices.
• Drive operational effectiveness including CI, plant maintenance, and inventory management.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance tasks and attend to breakdowns.
• Develop and implement plant improvements ensuring QA, Food Safety and HSE compliance.
• Perform general engineering repairs when required.
