Job summary

Aotea Electric Invercargill is seeking a Service Supervisor to lead our electrical servicing team. You’ll guide electricians and apprentices, provide technical support, and ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you’ll prepare quotations, monitor progress and profitability, conduct site visits, and work closely with the Service Coordinator to keep workloads balanced.

Qualifications

• Licensed NZ electrician with current practising licence.
• Extensive experience in electrical servicing, maintenance and fault finding.
• Able to make technical decisions and troubleshoot problems.
• Good organisation and prioritisation skills.
• Strong people skills and ability to develop others.
• NZ driver's licence.

Aotea Electric Invercargill is looking for a Service Supervisor to join our team.

We're looking for an experienced electrician with strong technical knowledge, good communication skills and the ability to lead and support others. Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage, but we're equally interested in someone who is ready to take that next step in their career.

This is a varied role where you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of our electrical servicing team, providing technical support, quoting work and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You'll be working alongside an established Service Coordinator who looks after scheduling, client communication and job administration, allowing you to focus on leading the team, supporting staff and keeping jobs running well.

About The Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you'll be responsible for:

• Leading and supporting a team of electricians and apprentices.
• Providing technical advice, mentoring and training to develop the team's capabilities.
• Preparing quotations for electrical servicing and maintenance work.
• Monitoring quoted jobs, labour efficiency and job progress to ensure work is completed profitably.
• Working alongside the Service Coordinator to manage workloads, scheduling and resources.
• Carrying out site visits to monitor workmanship, health and safety and compliance.
• Supporting the team with complex fault finding, urgent breakdowns and hands-on work when required.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients and ensuring work is completed to their expectations.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Is a New Zealand registered electrician with a current practising licence.
• Has strong experience in electrical servicing, maintenance and fault finding.
• Is comfortable making technical decisions and helping others solve problems.
• Has good organisational skills and can manage competing priorities.
• Enjoys working with people and helping others develop their skills.
• Understands the importance of completing work efficiently and profitably.
• Communicates well with both staff and clients.
• Holds a full NZ driver's licence.

You don't need to have held a supervisor title before. What's more important is your technical ability, attitude and willingness to take ownership of the role.
