Job summary

Fusion5 is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer to own the hardest problems, mentor engineers, and apply technical judgement to design and deliver secure, scalable solutions. The role is based in New Zealand with Australian business hours and reporting into the Australian team.

You will lead complex investigations, drive incident recovery, and coach others to build capability while maintaining strong security and data integrity across customer environments.

Qualifications

• Relevant IT degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Microsoft 365 administration and security.
• Ability to own complex incidents and drive resolution.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications in cloud, infrastructure or security preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own complex incidents, problems, changes and risks.
• Lead technical investigations and major incident recovery.
• Design secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs.
• Deliver end-to-end projects, migrations and improvements.
• Coach engineers through peer review and knowledge sharing.
• Drive root cause analysis to reduce recurring issues.
• Contribute to planning, estimations and pre-sales with practical recommendations.
