Job summary
IAG is seeking a Manager, Technical Claims to lead the Technical Claims function within the Broker and Specialist Claims team across our NZ brands. You will oversee complex, high-value claims and act as the senior technical authority for brokers and partners.
Based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, this permanent, full-time role focuses on strategic leadership, governance, and delivering fair outcomes in challenging claim matters.
Qualifications
- Senior leadership experience in general insurance and claims.
- Proven ability to oversee complex, high-value, disputed or litigated claims.
- Strong decision making in complex, ambiguous situations with sound judgement.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for one of IAG's largest, most complex claims.
- Ensure claims are managed with clear strategies, timely decisions and appropriate consideration of policy cover and legal advice.
- Establish governance, QA and review practices for complex claims and high-risk decisions.
- Build trusted relationships with brokers, insurers, reinsurers and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to overall performance of Broker and Specialist Claims and drive improvements.
- Lead initiatives that improve technical capability, claims quality and customer experience.
