Job summary

Chorus NZ Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build and enhance enterprise-scale software solutions. You will work in a collaborative Agile team across the full software lifecycle, delivering robust and scalable systems while driving continuous improvement in automation and reliability.

The role emphasizes strong Java/Spring Boot expertise, microservices, and middleware patterns, with opportunities to mentor teammates and influence architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in Agile environments.
• Experience in Java-based apps, microservices and REST/SOAP with Spring Boot.
• Enterprise integration and middleware expertise (ActiveMQ, MuleSoft ESB, MOVEit).
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (Ansible).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Code reviews, secure coding and maintainable design mindset.
• Ability to coach, mentor and support teammates.
• Ownership, initiative and ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance complex software solutions for business and customer outcomes.
• Collaborate in an Agile team across the full software development lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement in automation, CI/CD, performance and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership across the wider team.
• Architectural discussions and adoption of modern development practices.
