Job summary

SecuritEase International seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead backend development for our fintech platform. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot, and build secure RESTful APIs to support global customers.

You will work with Kafka/RabbitMQ, Postgres and NoSQL stores, manage data workflows with Airflow, and ensure quality through JUnit/Mockito tests. Collaborating with a small, global team, you can be based remotely in New Zealand or Australia

Qualifications

• Strong Java back-end experience with Spring Boot and microservices.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and working with messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Experience with relational (Postgres) and NoSQL (Cassandra/OpenSearch/Pinot) databases.
• Hands-on CI/CD and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) skills.

About Us

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Back-End Engineer with deep Java and Spring Boot expertise to help us build scalable, robust microservices and data pipelines for our next-generation fintech platform.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable back-end services using Java and Spring Boot.

• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with messaging systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ.

• Work across relational (Postgres) and NoSQL (Cassandra, OpenSearch, Pinot) databases to deliver high-performing systems.

• Manage data workflows using Kafka and Apache Airflow.

• Implement automated testing strategies with JUnit/Mockito, TestContainers, and BDD frameworks.

• Ensure observability through logging, tracing, and monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design secure, efficient, and scalable solutions.

What you’ll bring

• Strong expertise in Java (concurrency, collections, streams, design patterns).

• Proven experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Hibernate/JPA.

• Solid background in microservices architecture, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD (GitLab CI).

• Knowledge of message-driven architectures, distributed systems, and idempotent pipelines

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Scala, Python, or reactive programming.

• Experience with Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, and advanced distributed system design.
