Job summary

SG Fleet AU in Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and continuously improve customer-focused software products. You will work with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions and take ownership of complex technical problems end-to-end.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant equivalent including software development.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and developing applications using .NET technologies, with a focus on scalable solutions.
• Experience building modern web applications using contemporary frontend technologies and frameworks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft development tools: .NET, MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, SQL.
• Experience with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (Svelte, Vue.js, Angular, or React).
• Solid automated testing experience (Jest/Jasmine) and frontend/e2e testing (Cypress/Playwright).
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for frontend and .NET solutions.
• Ability to work across mixed-technology environments and integrations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for solution design.
• Database design, querying and data modelling experience.
• Experience in agile teams and practices.
• Exposure to infrastructure concepts (virtualisation, cloud, monitoring).
• Knowledge of Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, Git) and Microsoft tools (Azure, Dynamics).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality scalable software solutions using agreed technologies.
• Take end-to-end ownership from requirements through delivery and production support.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Analysts to understand requirements and communicate progress.
• Contribute to architectural direction ensuring performance, reliability, security and data protection.
• Lead by example in coding standards and peer code reviews.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and security risks.
• Mentor and support other engineers to uplift team capability.
