Placements24 seeks a Senior Plant Engineer to oversee and optimize maintenance-driven operations at a Queenstown facility. You will lead engineers and technicians to meet production targets through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a strong mechanical engineering background, 8+ years in plant engineering and maintenance, and proven leadership in large industrial settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in plant engineering and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in managing maintenance teams and operations in a large industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, and HVAC.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
• Expertise in troubleshooting complex mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Demonstrated leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance in industrial settings.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
• Project management skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all plant mechanical systems and equipment.
• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies, including preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Lead and mentor a team of plant engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety and high performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to plant operations.
• Manage plant budgets for maintenance, spares, and capital projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment and modifications to existing systems.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with production and engineering departments to support production schedules and new product introductions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory.
